Sooo I have shin splints. I am too stubborn to let them heal though. So The way that I'm currently dealing with it is to run a painful 2 miles, take 2 days off, think I'm better - but I'm not - then run again and hurt them even more.
I'm now icing them, massaging them, using a roller for my shins, calves and hips. I have been really wanting to increase my mileage but I think I ran too long in my worn out shoes and caused my own injury.
Prior to these shin splints, I ran my farthest distance ever - 7 miles. I did it in 1 hour and 1 minute. I really want to run 10 and then do a half marathon. So as soon as my legs are feeling better I am going to get back out there and really crank out some mileage.
